Frank Shamrock left the UFC as the first middleweight champ and undefeated in the octagon. A record he still proudly boasts. He spoke of Dana White monopolizing the world of MMA and how without competition there is no product.
Just like I mentioned the way the WWE has been running.
He says he hasn't spoken to Dana White in a long time but would never rule out a return to the UFC. He did mention that the smaller organizations at least take the fighters opinions into consideration as far as fights and marketing strategies go whereas the UFC will tell you who you're fighting, where you're fighting, and they'll decide everything else.
At this point, Frank Shamrock is popular in name only but does plan on getting a couple fights in this year. However, he might be past his prime to use as a name for marketing main events. He does have a pretty good business sense and could help smaller organizations in that manner.

No one cares to see Frank Shamrock fight nor do they care about his opinion. He was a great fighter......8 years ago! Not going to sell tickets......at least not to me.
He's popular in name alone. Just like Ken being the main event at an EliteXC event.
