Lyoto Machida offered to fight Tito Ortiz

Undefeated UFC lightheavyweight Lyoto Machida has been offered a fight with former champ and current celebrity apprentice Tito Ortiz. Machida has accepted the fight and is now waiting for Ortiz to accept. If you recall, Ortiz was scheduled to fight "Sugar" Rashad Evans in a rematch back in November. A fight that Michael Bisbing stepped in when Ortiz felt he needed time off the heal up. He stated he had been fighting injured for so long that it was time to stop making second tier fighters look great. He was referencing to Forrest Griffin who lost a split decision and Evans who fought Ortiz to a draw earlier in 2007.
Machida was brought in to possibly lose to UFC newcomer Rameay Sokoudjo. The talk was how Sokoudjo was beginning to come into his own by starring in Pride for the last couple years. That plan backfired as Machida dominated Sokoudjo from the start and submitted him in the second round. With the exception of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, defeat has been the fate of all the Pride fighters who have experienced the octagon.
