WCO Event Cancelled

Score another win for Dana White and the UFC. The World Cagefighting Organization scheduled for tonight in San Diego has been cancelled by the California State Athletic Commission. The cancellation was due to insufficient funds for fighter purses and expenses for the event.

The event was dubbed 'The Return' with the card covered with UFC vets. Scheduled fighters were Renato 'Babalu' Sobral vs. Vernon 'Tiger' White in the main event, as well as other veterans such as Mark Kerr, David Loiseau, Joe Riggs, and Ricco Rodriguez.

Several fighters were approached earlier and asked to tear up their original contracts in order to comply with the budget. With time running out, WCO officials made a last ditch effort to attain a promotor's license to save the event but couldn't as the clock rang closer to the scheduled fight time.

Dana White must be smiling as he has welcomed other fighting organizations to compete with the UFC and display the best of MMA, which he believes he has. Is he becoming the Vince McMahon of MMA?
