Stephan Bonnar could face another TUF contestant Matt Hamill at Fight Night on Spike TV April 2nd. The main event of the card is red hot Kenny Florian vs. Joe Lauzon.
Stephan Bonnar is credited with putting the UFC back on the map with his epic battle with Forrest Griffin at the very first Ultimate Fighter Finale. Griffin won the slugfest and the contract but Dana White was so impressed with Bonnar that he offered a contract to him as well.
Tito Ortiz made Hamill his protege while coaching the 3rd season of TUF. He was on a colision course to fight Michael Bisbing during the show when a concussion forced him out of the competition. The fight eventually did take place overseas with Bisbing winning a very controversial decision. Many fans as well as Dana White felt that Hamill won the fight. The rematch never took place as Hamill had to have knee surgery and Bisbing took a fight with Rashad Evans. It appears the rematch will never happen now that Bisbing made the decision to drop to middleweight.
I can only hope this current fight rumor is true. Both have a huge fan base from being TUF alums.
